Jahhiya Records believes in producing positive, conscious roots music that is not only uplifting but also filled with high energy and dancehall beats that get people moving. Over the last 15 years they have produced bands and music that have traveled the world. The founders whose native roots lie in Jamaica are dedicated to bringing the heart of Reggae music to the people of the Earth.

One of those founders, Ras Leon, whose own music is featured on the website, has been playing music since the age of thirteen. "I was blessed to be able to tour the island with many different Reggae bands and discovered my spirituality and higher vision at a very young age," says Ras Leon. "The enthusiasm and love of music I have had since a young boy has stuck with me and continues to influence everything that Jahhiya Records produces today. Jahhiya Records and National Muzik Production was founded in 1991 by Ras Leon, a talented Reggae musician who came to California from Jamaica in 1986. Since it's inception N.M.P. has promoted numerous concerts including five Bob Marley Day festivals in Santa Barbara, California, and numerous concerts at the Fairfax Pavilion in Marin County, California. N.M.P. often donates a portion of the proceeds to a needy charitable organization such as Let Isla Vista Eat, Fairfax Department of Parks and Recreation, and Friends of the River. These concerts have been attended and enjoyed by thousands of people.

N.M.P. also produces conscious and uplifting Reggae Dancehall music, and offers collectible Reggae wear including tee-shirts, posters and hats, all of original designs. All of our music is produced using the best musicians in Jamaica, and includes internationally renowned, as well as up and coming artists. About Ras Leon
Ras Leon was born in Spanishtown, Jamaica on August 26, 1964, and raised in the hills of Clarendon. He went from playing beats on desktops to playing a trap set at the age of 13. Ras Leon toured the island with many different Reggae bands, played as a studio musician, and learned from some of the finest Reggae Musicians at a young age. It was at that time he discovered Rastafari and a higher vision.

A few years later he was guided to California where he continued his work by forming a band called Underground Roots Syndicate. Soon Ras Leon began writing his own lyrics and he became the lead singer for URS. URS opened successfully for some of the biggest names in Reggae music including: Pato Banton, Judy Mowatt, Black Uhuru, Big Youth, Aswad, Yellowman, Eekamouse, Shinehead, and Steele Pulse. Ras Leon has also recorded in the finest studios in Jamaica and across America.

After co-producing a successful EP on cassette, "Follow Me" in 1990, Ras Leon moved on to bigger and better things. In 1992, Ras Leon produced and released his own compact disc "Style" which received radio airplay throughout the world.

During this time Ras Leon toured extensively throughout California, playing three or four nights a week and packing clubs everywhere. He played at many well known venues including Ventura Theater, The Santa Barbara County Bowl, Fremont Street Reggae and Blues in Las Vegas, and the Reggae at the Lake festival in Tahoe. He developed a strong following of fans who appreciate his boundless energy and conscious lyrics. At this time Ras Leon founded National Muzik Production, a successful production company that has been promoting shows, and donating a portion of the proceeds to charity.

In the last ten years RAS LEON has traveled to Jamaica numerous times producing new Reggae compilations "Blazing Hits #1" & "Blazing Hits #2" featuring some of the biggest Reggae stars in Jamaica and the world including TONY REBEL,
EVERTON BLENDER, YAMI BOLO, LADY G, ANTHONY B, SUGAR BLACK , with LEHBANCHULEH, BLACK OUT. Also, hot upcoming artists MANUEL STAIN, MR.BEENIE DON RANGER, SHAKA SHAMBA, and HOPTON JUNIOR.

The music was recorded at MUSIC WORKS, MIXING LAB, and RECORD FACTOR, in Kingston by top musicians, SLY & ROBBIE, COMPUTER PAUL, GUTZY LASELL BECKFORD, JAH D, DEAN FRASER, BONGO HERMAN, DANNY "Axe-man" Thompson, and HORSEMOUTH.
